Building Bridges Across Communities in Odense
Last Tuesday, 19th of May, Lighthouse Odense Community Church had the joy of welcoming from for a meaningful time of fellowship, networking, and conversation.
KIT — Kirkens Integrations Tjeneste — works to strengthen relationships between churches, immigrants, internationals, and local communities across Denmark. Their vision focuses on integration, unity, friendship, and practical support for people from different cultural backgrounds.
During the visit, Ruben met with Pastor Richard and Lattapon from Lighthouse Odense Community Church to talk about ministry, community outreach, and the growing international environment in Odense.
Pastor Richard shared the story of how Lighthouse Odense began. What started as a small gathering with a heart for worship, fellowship, and outreach has continued to grow into a welcoming international church community. The conversation centered around the need for churches to work together instead of standing alone.
One of the strongest moments from the meeting came during a discussion about unity among church leaders and ministries in Southern Denmark.

“Let’s start a Round Table for Leaders.”
The idea behind the Round Table Meeting is simple:
- Bring pastors and ministry leaders together
- Build friendships across churches
- Share experiences and challenges
- Support smaller congregations
- Strengthen outreach to local communities
- Create unity among international and Danish churches
added:
“We can do more when we come together.”
That statement reflected the heart of the meeting. Churches in Odense and the Southern Region carry different cultures, backgrounds, and ministry styles, yet they share the same desire to serve people and bring hope to their communities.
Pastor Richard also emphasized the importance of supporting smaller fellowships and growing ministries:
“We want to network and help small churches to reach out to their communities.”
The evening was filled with open conversation, encouragement, and vision for the future. Relationships were strengthened, ideas were shared, and new connections were formed.
Plans are already being discussed for another gathering in the near future. The next step is to invite more international pastors and local church leaders from the South Region to join the upcoming Round Table Meeting.
Lighthouse Odense Community Church believes that unity creates strength. When churches stand together, they can support one another, reach more people, and become a stronger voice of hope in the city.
