There are moments when church feels less like an event and more like a family. This past week was one of those special times at Lighthouse Odense, filled with fellowship, worship, prayer, laughter, and shared meals. We are grateful for all that God is doing among us.
A Spontaneous Picnic in Munkemose
The week began with a spontaneous gathering in Munkemose Park in the heart of Odense. With beautiful sunshine and warm weather, a few members of our church family decided to meet together for a picnic.
What started as a simple idea quickly became a wonderful opportunity for fellowship. We enjoyed conversations, shared food, and spent time encouraging one another. Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen when there is no agenda—just people coming together to enjoy God’s creation and each other’s company.
These simple gatherings remind us that church is not only something we attend on Sundays. Church is a family that shares life together.
Wednesday Evening Worship and Prayer
On Wednesday evening, many gathered for our weekly worship and prayer meeting.
The atmosphere was filled with faith as voices were lifted together in worship. We spent time singing, praying, and seeking God as a church family. Corporate prayer remains one of the most important parts of our community life, bringing us together with one heart and one purpose.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing testimonies from members of the congregation. Several people shared what God has been doing in their lives during this season. Stories of answered prayers, encouragement, provision, healing, and God’s faithfulness reminded us all that He is still working today.
Every testimony strengthens faith and points us back to the goodness of God.
Saturday Evening Fellowship Around the Fire
Saturday evening brought another special gathering as nine people came together behind the church building for fellowship, barbecue, and a bonfire.
For four hours we shared food, drinks, stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations. As the fire burned, friendships were strengthened and new connections were made.
In a busy world where many people struggle with loneliness and isolation, these moments of genuine fellowship are precious. Gathering around a meal and spending unhurried time together reflects the spirit of the early church, where believers shared life with one another.
It was a simple evening, yet deeply refreshing for everyone who attended.
Family Sunday Celebration
The week concluded with a wonderful Family Sunday service.
The church was packed as people gathered to worship together. The congregation joyfully sang songs including “Hallelujah Thank You Jesus Holy Spirit” and “I Am a Friend of God.” The worship team led us into a powerful time of praise and thanksgiving.
Pastor Richard brought an encouraging message from God’s Word, challenging and inspiring us to continue walking closely with Christ.
Following the service, the celebration continued outdoors with family activities for all ages. There was a bonfire, barbecue, snobrød, drinks, snacks, and plenty of opportunities for fellowship.
Children played together, families connected, and friends spent time enjoying one another’s company. It was a beautiful picture of what church life can be when people gather not only for worship but also for community.
Thankful for God’s Blessings
As we reflect on the week, our hearts are filled with gratitude.
From a spontaneous picnic in Munkemose to worship and prayer, from fellowship around the bonfire to a packed Family Sunday celebration, we have seen God’s blessings in many ways.
Church is more than a building. It is people growing together, supporting one another, worshipping together, and sharing life together.
We thank God for every person who participated throughout the week and for the growing sense of family within our church community.
We look forward to all that God has in store for the weeks ahead.
“Let us think of ways to encourage one another to show love and to do good. We should not stop gathering together with other believers.” — Hebrews 10:24-25
